How do I back up my Lawyer Diary app data

Thinking of changing my handset. How do I back up my data ? In settings menu nothing is coming regarding backup. advice pls.

— Kishan Bhat

Currently app stores backup data on device SD card/Internal Storage only. So you need to manually take backup. Please follow below steps to take backup.

Step1: On your phone there should be an application to see storage files.

For example On Samsung phone you can see “My Files” app to see Storage files. Using this application, open Internal or SD card storage files. There you’ll see LawyerDiary folder as shown below.

bu1_e

Step 2: Open LawyerDiary folder, there you’ll see as shown below

bu2

Step 3: Open Backup folder, there you’ll see backup files as shown below. Generally LawyerDiary app creates a backup file daily, when you use app.

And It keeps only last five days back up files.

Step 4: Just copy this Backup folder in a safe place (ie. Personal Computer, or any other Storage device.)

That’s it.

Prepone Adjourn date in app

My query is suppose If the case is posted to 25-01-2015 and if any party either the plaintiff or defendant filed a petition to advance the suit from 25-01-2016 to 23-01-2016 there is no chance to advance the date in app. It appears as “Adjourn date should be greater than latest Adjourn date”.

–P.V.Prasad, Advocate

As per above given example, you can prepone Adjourn date as below
  • Step1: First you attended a case and added Case details in app on 27-11-2015

ld1s

  • Step2: Now you add next Adjourn date as 26-01-2016 by clicking “Add Step and Adjourn Date” button. (just for example, i used 26/01/2016 though its holiday in India.)
ld2s

Now the plaintiff or defendant filed a petition to advance the suit from 26-01-2016 to 23-01-2016. So you want to update the same in app.

You can change it to 23-01-2016, by below steps
  • Step3: Select Case History in Case Details screen
ld3s

  • Step4: You’ll see Case History screen. In this screen click on Edit button.
ld4s
  • Step5: You’ll see Edit option as below. Select latest Adjourn Date i.e. 26-01-2016.
ld5s

  • Step6: You’ll see Edit Step And Adjourn Date screen as below. Change the Adjourn Date to 23-01-2016. You can able to change it to old date i.e 23-01-2016 using Edit button in Case History.

ld6s
That’s it.
So, Whenever you want change latest Adjourn date, you should go to Case History and Click on Edit to change date.
Hope it helps.
